Ooooh! This studio session is one of my favorites! Every time I have the privilege of photographing friends, I am both honored and challenged. Honored because the trust that comes from someone I know somehow feels so big when I’m behind the camera. And challenged because I want to stretch myself creatively every time I work with someone who already knows me.

Cassie and Ryan are no stranger to being in front of my camera, and it’s so special every time. They’ve been in front of the camera for some of my biggest creative breakthroughs over the years, and I couldn’t be more excited that they have shared in those moments with me.

So as I do another round of studio sessions (the first in three years), I’m so glad that such sweet friends chose to jump in with me. Adding studio photography to my repertoire is such a dream come true (especially since Wisconsin winters are so long and cold!), and photographing Cassie and Ryan just made it that much sweeter.

Photographing these two always makes my wedding photographer heart sing. They’re just that cute. And their smiles…? So genuine. They have so much fun together and radiate so much love! And a studio couple session like this puts their connection center stage—I think that’s what I like so much about studio sessions. No distractions. Just you and the story that’s unfolding in your relationship.

I absolutely adored their casual and comfy vibes that they brought to their session—really, it’s the socks for me. Their socks just feel like the perfect detail for this indoor photoshoot.

The coolest thing about photoshoots like this is that you get to set the tone—whether you like to be fancy, or comfy, or stylish, or whatever. You can’t get it wrong.
